Still, Salzburg holds a special place in my heart because I spent the summer before 9/11 here living with a family and, yes, studying singing. I made so many great friends that I'm still in touch with (Hi Gabby and Amy!), became proficient in German, had a fabulous singing lesson every day, saw operas at the Salzburg Festival, and became close with my host parents, Mutti and Vatti Dallinger.
It took about 2.5 hours from Schärding (quick change in Wels) and before I knew it everything looked familiar again!!
Btw... This is my second time writing this post. Blogpress crashes whenever I upload a ton of pictures to a post. So annoying! So... Here we go again.
Getreidegasse, where I had so many opera coachings upstairs!

My old school!

Despite rain and clouds, still beautiful.

Fave cafe, Tomaselli!

Trusty old Mönchsberg, still keeping watch.

All choked up remembering the magical night of the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festval in 2001! Dancing by candlelight around the fountain!!

Best little spot to stop for a snack, Papageno Platz.

My buddy...
